CK:

Can you name a few of you favorite places on the web for band promotions?

Autograph of the Sun:

Well, I don't know about band promotion but we released our single through a program called TuneCore, which submits independent band's music to online stores.

CK:

Where do you practice as a band and how often?

Autograph of the Sun:

We practice everywhere. All over. I like to practise every day, but as a band, we practise about every week.

CK:

How long does it take for an average song to go from a musical idea to a recordable song?

Autograph of the Sun:

Well, I had written about 300 songs before we even got the music for "Crash!" I remember I was at a party with my friends and I got a call on my cell phone and all I heard was. "Zeke, man! I got something here!" And then he played it for me. On the phone. About four months later, we were in a studio.

CK:

Let us say that you have been just signed by a major label and they say time to move 2500 miles. Now what, would you be able to move?

Autograph of the Sun:

No. I would say, "Forget it, I shouldn't have even signed the contract."

CK:

How experienced are you or the band on the stage?

Autograph of the Sun:

We've never been live in a huge event, so not very. We can all play like we were in a concert, but...there's something different between that when you're in the garage and that when you're in front of hundreds of people.

CK:

Most people will never know what it feels like to be on stage in front of a crowd, explain to them that feeling:

Autograph of the Sun:

You shake at first, but if you know what you're doing you start getting into it and you're having fun and you get this feeling like "Oh man, I am awesome."

CK:

Last stage gig you did:

Autograph of the Sun:

Long time ago. Like I said, no major event. It was actually a private concert, but we still got an encore, so..that's something.

CK:

Who are your biggest influences?

Autograph of the Sun:

We vary. My personal favorite's the Beatles and the pillar of our band "Merlin"'s is David Bowie, but we love old, new, all kinds of songs from punk to grunge to pop to techno.

CK:

What you feel is the most important thing about your music?

Autograph of the Sun:

LYRICS. Also, the melody. Good lyrics without good melody is almost smart rap. (An oxymoron, in my opinion).

CK:

My favorite drum kits are made by Drum Workshop (DW), what is yours?

Autograph of the Sun:

No real preference.

CK:

Have you ever paid for advertising for the band?

Autograph of the Sun:

Nah, we try to remain low key.

CK:

How many members in the band write music?

Autograph of the Sun:

One. Me. I write all the lyrics with a melody. "Merlin" helped with the guitars on our debut single Crash! but that was it.

CK:

Are there any established artists with whom you would like to collaborate?

Autograph of the Sun:

Yes, but there all big name (Green Day, U2, Linkin Park, Maroon 5, They Might Be Giants, The Fray, Snow Patrol, Five for Fighting) I doubt we ever will.

CK:

What are your plans for the future with your band?

Autograph of the Sun:

Well, we're working our LP. I'm hoping it'll take about a year and a half but...we got a long way to go.

CK:

Did you get your photos done professionally? By Whom?

Autograph of the Sun:

Nope. We took the photos for our album cover.

CK:

Longest running concert schedule?

Autograph of the Sun:

Never had a long one. We don't tour yet. Longest concert's been about an hour and a half, tops.

CK:

Do you have a page on the web with your concert places and times? If so where?

Autograph of the Sun:

No, not yet.

CK:

Introduce the members in the band:

Autograph of the Sun:

Zeke, the songwriter, guitarist and such. That's me. Merlin, the planned singer and guitarist. Some come and go, but the band is really only two solid members

CK:

What do you like most about being an INDE artist?

Autograph of the Sun:

Freedom, baby.

CK:

Describe your most important gig and what made it so important.

Autograph of the Sun:

The private one. The encore was awesome.
