CK:

Has the internet really been helpful to your promotion?

Burning Tree:

Absolutely. In this day and age, if you haven't accepted that the internet is probably the most effective promotional tool ever created, then your band is pretty much doomed. The internet, and Myspace have done wonders for our band, and landed us quite a few international fans, as well.

CK:

What genre(s) would you say your music is under?

Burning Tree:

While we call it Reggae-Rock, there are many many more influences that go into shaping our style. We also pull influence from blues, jazz, latin, alternative, hip-hop, and even classic rock.

CK:

Do you do any recording on your own?

Burning Tree:

We try to keep recording as DIY as possible. We usually track our instruments in the studio [which is about 10% of the work], and then take the raw tracks and mix and do all the post-production ourselves. The aim is to take creative control with how everything comes out sounding in the end because well, we're perfectionists.

CK:

Who are your biggest influences?

Burning Tree:

Well every member of the band takes influence from all kinds of different types of music and artists. But I'd say our sound is probably closest to that of Sublime.

CK:

Favorite clothing line?

Burning Tree:

Whatever's cheap man, we got bills to pay.

CK:

Introduce the members in the band:

Burning Tree:

Well, we've got Dave on the lead guitar and vocals, Tommy on rhythm/lead guitar and back-up vocals, and Mike holding down the bass with Frank on the drums.

CK:

What are your plans for the future with your band?

Burning Tree:

We're not in it for super-stardom, we just want to make enough money from playing music to support ourselves touring around the country, maybe the world... Who knows.

CK:

Day time or Night time?

Burning Tree:

Night time. Totally. Thats when the freaks come out. Hahaha!

CK:

Do you feel that "underground" is just a marketing term like anything else?

Burning Tree:

Sure. It's obviously not a literal reference. It's not like we're rocking on a subterranean level.

CK:

How do you transport your equipment to the gig?

Burning Tree:

In gig bags, packed into the back of Dave's van, and of we have to haul the PA too, that goes in Tommy's explorer. We're working on getting a trailer.
