CK:

What you feel is the most important thing about your music?

Alexis Thompson:

It's originality. I know, every musician claims to be original. But I feel that the styles I combine are very unique and create a sound that has no problem fitting in with Americana, alt country, folk, bluegrass--even blues music. But it is still quite original. Female musicians who combine backgrounds in pop, punk, bluegrass, and country music are not exactly popping up everywhere... so I guess that's a good thing!

CK:

Name and describe your most memorable gig.

Alexis Thompson:

I was placed in a songwriting showcase... in a round with two very Christian musicians. Now, if you've heard my music, you know that wasn't exactly the place for me to fit in. I thought for sure I would get kicked out. Surprisingly, it all worked out and we had a great time!

CK:

When did you first start singing, what made you choose music?

Alexis Thompson:

I first started singing when I was four or five years old. It's something I have done since then. I don't really remember 'choosing' music.

CK:

What made you want to pursue songwriting?

Alexis Thompson:

I've always enjoyed writing, telling stories. Songwriting is a way for me to be creative and express myself through music.

CK:

Can you name a few of you favorite places on the web for band promotions?

Alexis Thompson:

Soundclick.com is by far my favorite.

CK:

What do you like most about being an INDE artist?

Alexis Thompson:

I am doing my own thing.

CK:

Do you have a street or e-team system in place? Want one for your website?

Alexis Thompson:

I do not. I would love one for my website!

CK:

If you could talk to anyone in the music business, who would it be?

Alexis Thompson:

Any publisher. I am very interested in publishing and my ultimate goal is to have a career in songwriting.

CK:

Introduce the members in the band:

Alexis Thompson:

I also perform with and work with the following musicians in the studio and out and about: Ian Doerr (guitar, harmonica, vocals) Jennifer Schmidt (guitar, harmonica, vocals) Rachel Bawol (bass guitar, vocals) Paul Redel (guitar, keys) Isaac Taylor (fiddle) Ed (drums) Dan (bass)

CK:

Fast or Slow?

Alexis Thompson:

Both. And some in between.
