VR:
What is your favorite song on your current album?

DESCENSION:
My favorite sone right now would have to be Osiris Has Risen. I have always wanted to do a huge, powerful song like Iron Maiden's Powerslave, and we have!

VR:
Do you feel that "underground" is just a marketing term like anything else?

DESCENSION:
In some ways I do. Underground to me means that it's more in tune with the people. It's a bit more "real." Less corporate. The people running the Majors seem to have no idea what the public wants and it seems that the "underground" now supports true music and bands who are true to themselves and their fans. bands that start in the underground and develop a fan base the old way seem to stay around longer.

VR:
Who are your biggest influences?

DESCENSION:
My biggest influences are Iron Maiden, early Merciful Fate, Sentenced, dark Throne and Emperor. The other bands that have influenced us as a band are Immortal, Dimmu Borgir, Blind Guardian, Iced Eath, Dio, Covenant, Opeth and In Flames.

VR:
Do your songs have a message?

DESCENSION:
Always. We write lyrics with a purpose and ones that usually tell a story.

VR:
What is your favorite local venue?

DESCENSION:
El Torreon in Kansas City is our favorite venue. They care about us and they really do us right. Great people who do this because they care!

VR:
You standing on the beach on a hot summer day. What comes to mind?

DESCENSION:
Strange question - probably the movie JAWS. Maybe Horror Of Party Beach!

VR:

DESCENSION:

Do you have all your songs downloadable at mp3.com?

DESCENSION:
We have our whole live demo available there. We really like the idea of people being able to hear the band and get our songs online and we are greatful to mp3.com for giving us the opportunity.

VR:
Where would you want to be musically say a year from now?

DESCENSION:
We always strive to advance as a band. Right now we have two new songs that are very different from one another yet totally still retain that sound that we have created. They are still Descension, yet they have grown and they have different feelings in them. One is a slow, mellow song and the other is a complicated metal tune with various tempos and changes.
