Line Pole Fence Post Spacing Chart

This chart is based on a maximum spacing of 9 foot 5 inches except at 30'. The standard distance between residential fence posts is 10 foot max. I prefer under 10 foot. It is a little more expensive to use 1 more pole in the line but it is also a much stronger fence!

Price ranges differ from state to state and there are a number of different grade materials to chose from. I have tried to look at a number of different states to get the ranges. These costs are to have your fence installed by a company.

4’ high residential galvanized fence runs between $3.50 to $7.50 per lineal foot

5’ high residential galvanized fence runs between $4.50 to $8.50 per lineal foot

6’ high commercial galvanized fence will cost between $10.00 to $12.00 per lineal foot

4’ high residential color type chain link runs between $6.50 to $9.75 per lineal foot

6’ high commercial color chain link is $13.00 to $15.00 per lineal foot

NOTE
None of these include the cost of gates.
