I have been looking into 5 and 6 channel amplifiers, and was wondering if anyone has one or knows someone that has one, and what they think of them. Obviously there are some advantages and disadvantages, but you won't find any disadvantages advertised lol.
Also, I was wondering if anyone had any insight on 'up and coming brands' there are alot of low priced brands out there, and some will make a name for themselves and the prices will double. I was looking at a soundstorm amp..

haven't heard much from them, but their S/N ratio and THD%'s far outweigh major brand names.

my neighbor has a 5 channel in his mustang gt, has has it for 2 yrs now, never had a problem with him, id say the only advantage is the size, but other than that going with 2 amps would probably be better, i think his 5th channel is only like 300 watts, not sure if that max or rms, it an alpine v12. he runs a set of jl seperates in the from and a set of high end alpine 6x9s and the alpine ported box with the 10 inch sub. it over heats every now and then but thats because he has it in his spare tire area with no air movement. they seem to be a little more pricey too. but from my experience they seem to be fine, just sux when one amp of the 2 goes out, they both run from same power so if ones bad the other wont work till its fixed, i think. good luck

Thanks.. I did notice the price on some of them, and I did look at the V12 alpine amp. I couldn't find their THD or S/N information, but I did note the price. That is why I was asking about soundstorm, at $150 It is almost worth experimenting with.

the JL is a bad mofo....... Done A few of those off of stock decks with good sound. The sub section is better then most.
