Hey guys, I've had a hella time trying to figure out my Ford Focus' wiring. It's a 2000 and didn't come with a book to tell me the stuff I need to know. So if anyone can tell me what the freakin wires mean so i can install my cd player, that would be wonderfully great, cuz i'm ready to push my car off a bridge. If this has already been removed, you can use a multi-meter to determine the constant hot and the accessory hot, then switch it to ohms to find the ground. Use a weak AA battery and touch it to the speaker leads to hear which speaker they are connected to. write your findings down as you do this.. it is hard to remember. you should have one constant power, one acc power, one ground and 8 speaker wires (4 pair). If you need further help or can't figure any of it out, call your local ford dealer. They should have all of that information on hand. ryan on 12/6/2003 14:52:30 Also if the factory harness is already cut off theres a site that tells you what the factory wires are i believe its sumthing like www.streetdreams.com punkrawk263 on 12/6/2003 15:11:29 awesome, i'll try that streetdreams site becuz like an idiot i cut the harness off for no reason at all, pot is bad when trying to install. cplkittle on 12/6/2003 15:13:21 do you still have the old harness? punkrawk263 on 12/6/2003 15:21:39 nope, but the wires i have coming from my car are: orange/black green/black white/green(very small was connected by itself away from other wires) black/orange yellow/black and just a blue one. BIGJ11BB on 12/7/2003 01:27:14 Here we go. I think these are right but double check with a voltmeter cause ford is stupid and uses different color wires for every model of car. Blue- amplifier yellow/black-switched 12 volt black/orange-constant 12 volt (memory) white/green-Illumination green/black-ground Did i mention i hate fords.
