Need opinions on my install

Hi everyone, first I'd like to say that I'm glad I found this site and this is my 1st post. I'm far from being considered an audio guy, but I plan to try an install and I need advice on the equipment I plan to use. I'm going to do the install on a 2002 Ford Super Duty { crew cab } truck. It has the factory stereo, just the am/fm cassette. I don't know anything else about it other than it isn't the premium sound package. I plan to keep the factory set-up, but change everything else. I plan to install an amp, about 200 watts, not sure what brand yet. I also plan to install a Bazooka 150 watt powered 10 inch bass tube. Also I want to replace the 4 factory speakers with ones that fit into factory locations. It has 2 in the front doors and 2 behind the backseat in the panel that goes up to the roof. I expect to probably spend around $ 600 or $800. I'm sorry for the long post, but can anyone suggest what amp would be best and I really want serious bass. I listen to all types of music, but mostly rap with the low bass. Will this be a hard job and what would be involved to this. So any help or advice is welcome. I have no idea on what speakers to use and I'm totally confused on the amp. Thanks for any advice.

I also forgot to ask a question about the Bazooka bass tube, I mentioned using the 150 watt 10 inch bass tube. It sells for around $350. Will those produce pounding bass and do I need to use just 1 bass tube or what would be the best route for the bass?

Just an opinion.....
600-800 budget.
I would go with one 10" bazooka to begin with, you can always add another later. You can get them on ebay for $200.

for the highest sound quality I would go with 4 CDT components 6.5". ($300)

And an amp to power the mids. Power acoustic 4ch 720watts. ($135)

total $635
and one awesome system.. in my opinion.
do listen to everyone else though.

i know the old bass tubes were decent, but i havent heard one in probably 6 years, so i cant say on that, but i know other companies make powered subs. ininity carries a clear bass link, 200watt 10inch. for $229, ikesound.com, i know jbl aslo makes one but i think its only a 6 `/2 inch woffer, the infinity is a little more power and a lil bit cheaper, ikesound also carries the bazooka tubes, powered 10 is $267. as for interior speakers, my neighbor has an f150 we did an install in, and if memory serves its has 5x7s. might not be the same as yours but they look like a 6x9 just smaller. he bought 2 sets of infinty 2 ways, with swivle tweets in the woofer, they sounded amazing of his alpine 5 channel. for an amp may want to check into us acoustics 4065 or 4080 model, thezeb.com. 4065 is like $127, 65watts rms x4 @4 ohms, and the 4080 is $172. and 80rmsx4@ohms.... going with the 6.5 comps as cplkittle mentioned would sound excellent as well. good luck with whatever you decide

Thanks, I was confused about what to do, but now I feel like I was thinking in the right direction. Thanks also for the info on the tube and amp prices, I was looking at Crutchfield and they want $399 for the bigger Bazooka. Thanks again

no problem thats what we are here for. once you have decided what your going to get, let us know, and how it sounds after your finished.

I get crutchfield magazines because of their comparison charts, that's about it. The reason you can find things online cheaper is because authorized dealers buying directly from the factory are making 100-150%profit selling out on town they have already paid freight and or shipping and handling... if they sell on ebay, they can still make $20 on a $80 sale and then make another $10-15 on shipping and handling and beat eveyone else by $40 at the same time. It is an easy sale for them.

I'm still checking on what to get, but in you guys opinion, what would be better for big bass- the 150 watt powered Bazooka bass tube, or the Infinity bass link? also I checked on a Kicker KX 600 amp and Pioneer 6985 4 way speakers. I'm just looking around, but how would this system work out?
