i just got a new 56" hi def jvc big screen this week and i have a question regarding my ps2. when i run the unit on the tv, the lettering and ojbects are kind of blurry on the edges, my neighbor also just got a big screen but a different brand, he has the same game and it is a lot clearer on his, he uses the monster cable for the s-video on his ps2 i just have the regular adapter. do any of you think that the s-video or the component hook up with clear the picture up on the games. the dvds look amazing and i have them runnin through component hook ups. i just dont want to spend the 60 dollars on the monster cable if it wont help much. thanx alot guys. Replies (4) dflock on 12/1/2003 15:55:42 I'm not 100% with PS2. Are you saying you are using the RCA Video-Out? And the other person is using an "S-Video" cable? If that is the case, then I would bet the S-Video cable gives a clearer picture, I've noticed it on DVD(s) before. But you don't have to spend $60 on an S-Video Cable, I would just buy a cheap-o (Radio Shack) S-Video cable. Could you borrow your neighbors cord for a few minutes and see if it makes a difference on your TV, that might answer your questions with out paying for something you may or may not need. _derek compvr15s on 12/1/2003 16:03:24 well i would buy the radio shack version but i need it to have the hook up for the play station 2. they have a weird flat shaped hook up that goes into the ps2. i will see if he will let me barrow his when he gets off of work. its just weird because the dvds are amazing and then i put in need for speed underground and its looks bad. its like night and day from his to mine. mainly in the words and just the definition around objects. thanx derek Pinch on 12/1/2003 16:14:13 I don't know about PS2, but I know that Xbox and GameCube both offer a "Hight Definition" package which includes the component cables to hook between the system and the TV so you can get the best picture. Before you buy anything though, make sure that you are getting the most of what you've got. Are there a bunch of settings for the TV to adjust picture type? On mine, you can set it to all kinds of different things and they each affect the picture dramatically. Play with the TV a bit and see if it is just something as simple as a setting somewhere. Pinch compvr15s on 12/1/2003 16:33:08 yea ive adjusted everything i can thik of, it has 4 modes, like game theater sports, switched through all them, then i tried to adjust the tint sharpness all that in each mode and didnt help, i will just see if i can buy them and if they dont work get store credit or refund. im sure they will do that Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
