hey guys just signed up.. this site is great.. im 17 and just got into the love of car audio bout year ago.. i have a question tho. Currently i have a 1996 saturn sl2..not bad starter car. with a panasonic head unit with built in mosfet amp and am runnin 2 800w ( a kenwood kac model and a lanzar vibe model) the speaker amp is the lanzar puttin 200w per channel for 4 channels, the other amp is runnin 2 infinity 1030w in a bandpass. i have everything hooked up nice and all. but my problem is that i run 8 guage for each amp, so i have two inlines under my hood with a battery post. i was thinkin of gettin a cap for the bass hits, even tho my lights dont dim and i have new alt/bat put in a lil while ago. i was wonering if its worth to get a cap or gat a cap with a distribution block on it so i can run one wire of 4 gauge back and split it for the amp but mostley to run the kenwood amp for the subs and thats the one i want the cap on.. is it worth getting the cap or not.. \ please help thx ~TiMoteo Replies (3) cplkittle on 11/25/2003 08:47:30 If your lights aren't dimming, and your alt is keeping up, you may want to opt for a larger battery just in case you upgrade. I have heard alot of people here suggest higher amp alternators and larger batteries instead of caps. How many amps is your alternator now, and how many cca's is your battery rated? ttocs on 11/25/2003 11:32:58 don't fix it if it ain't broke............... TiMoteo on 11/25/2003 14:56:06 yea tru ttocs thx well it was only a thought i was just seein if its even worht it. but i can do without plus it cost lots of money which i can use eleswhere.. i love this webite its like home lol Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
