Hi, I'm new to both car car audio and this forum. I have a 1994 Pontiac Grand AM GT (2 door) and I recently put in a Blaupunkt MP3000 head unit, 6.5" Blaupunkt Overdrive 3-way speakers in the doors, and 5"x7" Blaupunkt Overdrive speakers in the rear. I have a 250W Thump amp hooked up the rear 3-ways.
My question has to do with my next purchase, subs and amps. I am considering getting a Blaupunkt Pca2100 amp (150 x 2 Watts RMS 2 ohm, 300 x 1 Watts 4 ohm) with either a Blaupunkt Tsw1200 (200W RMS, 600W max) or Infinity 1230 (300W RMS, 1200W max) sub. Is there anthing I should know about the Blau amp to dissuade me from buying it, and which one of the subs would you reccomed? Thanks a lot and I love the site.

I like blau decks for the most part, but I don't know if I would build a system around any brand.

I ended up getting all Blau up until this point because I'm on a budget and since I work for Bosch I get a nice discount on their stuff. However, I dont really like any of their subs, so I guess what I most want to know is what would be the best sub I can get for around $100? I mostly listen to rock and heavy metal, but I want the sub more for the techno and trance I like. I am looking more for SPL from the sub.

Alot of people have different opinions as far as a brand of subs, but for less than $100 I ordered a pair of 12" DVC audiobahn subs(AW1251T) from ebay. THink it was $96 with shipping. I also like the master p series subs (p.miller series) by bazooka. I am very happy with the subs. You didn't mention a size, I am sure you can get a pair of 10s for alot cheaper ($65-85).
My best suggestion is to shop around in town and listen to all the subs at car audio places, circuit city, etc.. and then see what you can get them for online, they will always be cheaper online.
