6X8, 6X9, or 6 1/2 midbass, and 2 or 3 way?

Just curious to see if anyone has a preference and why. I am going all Audiobahn in the Kia minus the HU. I already have 2 12" subs, the 3 1/2 door replacement ADBN speakers, and am wondering what to put in the back. It has factory 5 1/2's, but there is room for 6X9 or 6 1/2's. Looking to fill the midbass gap with sound quality. I may go with 5 1/2 in the back and 6X8 or 9's attached to my bandpass box. was wondering where the sound quality was at also with 2 or 3 ways of the sizes mentioned.
I plan to run all of my mids with the audiobahn 6ch (A6601T) 6X75W@4ohm stereo, so a third pair is not a problem, actually probably better. How would you do it.. just looking for ideas.

if i was you, id remove the 3 1/2s. sell them or whatever, and run a set of 6 1/2 comps in the front doors or kick panels, have not personally heard from kick panels but i hear they sound better than in the door. and maybe another set of comps in the back doors, unless you really wanna make room for 6x9s. but the 6 1/2s will give you better sound. do you have dash speakers or anyplace in the dash that you could mount your tweets from your comp set, would recommend that rather than in the door, sounds better when the sound is directed off the glass towards the listener instead of directly at the listener. i would not go with 3 sets of speakers, may be a little over kill, just front doors/dash, and rear doors or rear compartment, then i would only get a 4 channel to run them, saves on power uses, sure that 4 channel draws some high current, then get a good 2 channle or mono amp for the 2 12s. thats just my input. good luck

I do have factory tweets in the front, but they are alot larger than the audiobahn component tweets, so I thought I would leave them since they are professionally flush mounted/molded to the dash.
I will look into putting something larger in the front, but the ones in there now are 3 1/2.. will have to make room for them. Good suggestion though does audiobahn make plates? will look into that also.
You are the third person to tell me that 6 1/2 sound better than 6x9s so I take that as fact now. are 3 ways clearer than 2ways ?
I would assume that they are, but they sell for the same price, so I am confused.

Now, is it better to get a 5channel amp or a 4ch and a mono? Haven't had the money or time to test any of these options, that is why I am asking.

anyone else have an opinion on this?

just curious, whats the obsession with bahn?

5.25" would be fine back there.. Anything more then a two way is meant for a camaro being driven by a mullet.

Have been able to get audiobahn speakers for pretty cheap on ebay (pair of 3 1/2 and a pair of 6 1/2) for around $120, and I see these in car stereo shops for $180/pair. Thought for that price and the good reviews I have seen/heard they were pretty high on the quality scale. If you think differently, please enlighten me. I am looking for sound quality.

their prices are cheaper, and if that is the issue then that is all that matters. They are not bad, but there are better. One thing that anyone gets into car audio, and stays, will learn that it is cheaper in the long run to save a few bucks, and get something that is better. A car is a horrible place for electronics(extreme temps, moisture and dust, bumpy roads), better componants sound better, last longer. 'Nuff said.....

I am NOT telling you to not buy those speakers, just my .02......

had to do some research, but I found it.. you had suggested a rating/feedback section in the 'how to get the gold' section in the home area of this site. Was there any more mention of this, or can we start a new thread on this? I would really like to see some opinions and or comparisons on all types of speakers.

as far as the previous reply.. it's not all about price. I have been out of the car audio loop for about 10 years, when my interest was rekindled about 3 months ago, I found out alot had changed. back then it was positive or negative, and the top of the line was something with a floating ground. never heard of audiobahn, MA audio, planet audio, mb quart, memphis, or any of these. I think JBL was around and cerwin vega. Basically, I haven't had the opportunity to listen to everything on the market today, so I was wondering what is out there. Price is only 25% of the selection factor for me. What do you recommend for high sq?

if i was you and wanted to get the best bang for your buck id do this.... 1 set of cdt 6.5 comps. havnt personally heard them but many ppl here have them and are happy. price is 149 down from 309 because color is off.http://thezeb.com/caraudio/specials_speakers.html

maybe another set if you wanted for the back but not needed. to run these depends on if you go one set or 2, either the us acoustis 2100(one pair 100wrmsx2@4ohms)$92 or the 4065(2 pair65wrmsx4@4ohms)$129 http://thezeb.com/caraudio/us_acoustics.html

for subs, infinity kappa$92 or perfects$135, 2 12's will give plenty of bass and these will give above average sq, ~300 watts rms, will be happy with this purchase

and for an amp to run the subs, a modest 600 watt rms class d amp will run them subs to there optimal preformace. jbl makes a 600.1 for $189 at ikesound.com, can be had cheaper off ebay probably. this setup should really sound great in your application, this is almost the exact setup i want to get my girlfriend except im only gonna get one sub and a 300watt class d amp. any questions just ask, are plenty of people here with knowledge on these items, i personally have no experience with these products but have became very interested in them through this site, i trust what these people say, dont think they would over rate the items that they buy, seem pretty reliabe on their statements. good luck

looked at the CDTs, pretty impressive! would like to hear from someone here who has them, or has heard them.
