Ok all I have a very general question. In your own experance, do plate type speakers sound as good as componets? The reason I ask is, I have 2003 Cavaleir and the factory speakers in the doors are 4 x 6, I can get a plate speaker (like the infinity kappa series) or a componet speaker to fit. I was thinking the componet but I have never heard a infinity kappa that did not soung excellent. So I am in a quandry.

if there is not much difference in the price, go with the plates. There is a difference in sound, but you can only get so much out of a speaker that small. Either one should have a high pass crossover...

i have a 97 cavalier, and currently im running memphis 6 1/2s in the doors, all it takes is a little cutting if you dont mind it. i'd be happy to walk you through it if you decide to go that route :)
