Subs cut out when loud... Mystery

Hi there everyone, i am having a problem with my system in my truck...i would appreciate some help if you have any ideas...

I have a Mp3 player hooked up to 2 Kenwood Amps, 1 for my 4 speakers whiich runs great at all volumes, and the 2nd that runs 2 kenwood 12 inch subs... i also have a 1 farad capacitor for this 2nd Amp...

i am having a bad problem with my subs cutting out at louder volumes... i have changed the head unit and the amplifier to my old ones and am still having this prob with intermittent subs cutting in and out...

I have even removed the capacitor(to check If Its Bad) and opened the sub box and made sure the wires are all tight...which they are!
Still even with an older amp they still cut out at random....
The sound when they are working is clear, so what the heck... my subs dont crackle like they are blown... if there is anyone that has any ideas please reply....

Thanks a Million!
MIles

Could ur amp be goin it to protection mode if cuz u play it for long periods of time. And can ur amp handle the ohm u have ur subs wired. And finally make sure all ur connections are good

The other possibility is power from you batterie....do your lights dim when the sub cuts out? i used to have a similar prob and it was because the car battery couldnt take 2 amps

well, this could be a couple things, for one, what is the total wattage of the two amps that you have inside your car. two, check all connections, this could be a bad ground. three, this may be a lower quality amp, and on some of the lower quality amps, they seem to heat up quickly and go into protection mode. also, like ryan said, can your amp handle the impedence load you have wired to it?
