OK i have 2 10" alpine type R DVC running on a phoenix gold tantrum series 500.2 amp. i want something more powerfull but with good sq. i'm getting a phoenix gold 1500 or 3000 watt mono amp in about 4 or 5 months and want to start looking for a set of subs to go with these. 12's this time... i have looked at audiobahn and lighting audio they have alot of subs with really high RMS wattage but how is the SQ? and do i really need 1000watts rms to get the power i'm looking for? i really want something that shakes my car but i dont want to get more then i have to are there some that are more around 600 watts rms that well give me the same sound?

Have you ever considerd JL Audio? I have owned 2 different kinds of JL the W1 and the W3 v2. Both are still working and sound great, but in your case you would need to go with W7's (they can handle the power you want to push). I think that JL is the ****, and people who listen to my system agree. They are very clean and LOUD. You should check out the JL web site for more info.

true JL are the kick ass but my current type R's are equal to many of my friends w6 systems.. and w7's are way expensive considering there are other speakers thjat sound as good or better for more decent prices
