Ok I drive a 98 mustang coupe and am going to put my new system in, I have researched and heard many subs powered by different amps. The best combo ive heard is the JL 1000/1 hooked up to a 12inch W7. Other people say this sub is overrated, have these fools actually heard this thing hooked up to a 1000/1? the sq is incredible and it is sooo powerful and deep, anyway... money is not a concern for me so i was wandering what would be better, should I have 1 12 W7 or 2 hooked up to the 1000/1, and if there is a difference what would it be? your recomendation is greatly appretiated. If you added a 2nd sub, 500 to each sub is nothing to sneeze at either. But now you have more space lost in the back and really, no net gain in SPL with dual subs. 2 subs cut the power in half... loss of 3dB Vs 1 sub Add a 2nd sub, you will pick up +3 dB Vs 1 sub.... a wash + $$$ Add a 2nd sub and amp, you get +6dB Vs 1 sub/1amp I'd say for many reasons, stay w/ 1 sub and 1 amp. If you want more bass than that, can always add on later. Swez Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
