Replies (5) Swez on 11/16/2003 19:25:15 The JBL BP1200.1 is my best shot (1 ohm stable) at that price range. You can order off the web. I have seen it for well under $300.00 off a few e-tail sites and am sure same on e-bay. Here: 1. http://ikesound.com/product-product_id/209 JBL 1200.1, $259.00 + S/H 2. http://ikesound.com/product-product_id/1506 HiFonics 1000D, $239.00 Swez Buickman94 on 11/16/2003 19:46:14 Those are 750rms each arent they? I would also look into the BX 1500D heres a link: http://www.ikesound.com/product-product_id/1507 eRKMaN619 on 11/16/2003 22:21:28 that hifonics amp is it good ..... and can i trust ikesound because i dont really trust in over the internet ordering crap i like to just see it then buy it in person ... and why does everyone want to get the JBL 1200.1 amp .. wahts so good abuot it and why not get a rockford fosgate ? Swez on 11/17/2003 08:18:43 RF has slipped a bit in the past few years in terms of real world performance. The old RF amps were rock solid and put out more power than rated at. Today, RF amps are still pretty good quality, but when you look at the new power ratings they use (14.4 volts) the amps now... put out less than they publish as most cars cannot sustain 14.4 volts continous. (more like 13.0 -13.5 volts) JBL is the best watts/dollar value I know of. Many guys have purchased from Ike Sound with very good results. He's one of the better E-tailers in the game and still offers great discounts. The JBL Mono amps are rated at 12.9 volts to obtain output watts noted. This makes the JBL actually able to put out more watts than is rated. Also... very durable, been in the audio Biz more then 30 years and they make a rock solid amp that can do 1 & 2 ohm loads. Finally, you can bump up to a larger amp for these subs, or a pair of amps, one per sub. But the cost and more wiring issues may not be best for a new guy to attempt w/o some help. Swez PS HiFonics does make a very good amp. They have been in the game a long time as well. The only drawback on HF... they do tend to run a bit hot at low ohms. Other than that, pretty solid gear here too. compvr15s on 11/17/2003 09:20:14 which ever amp/amps you go with, make sure you ground it/them well. i blew probably 8-10 12 inch L7s that way, i thought it was poor performance from my 2 kicker kx600.1s but it was actaully the grounding ot the amp. the subs you have will pound, good luck choose wisely Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
