Hi Yall,
I wanted to install my JVC KD-LH3150 mp3 player in my new car, 1998 Ford Contour, I bought the wiring harness and hooked everthing up but no sound comes out of my speakers. My car has premium audio, and a factory amplifier already installed in it. I don't know if this could be the problem. There were two pieces to the harness, one for the power, ground, etc. and the other for the speakers, which the factory amplifier plug goes into. I am pretty sure that i installed it correctly, i even checked to make sure all the little pins lined up for the amplifier plug. Please help! Thanks.

Don't know what to tell you without looking at it, I have had problems with wiring harnesses in the past though. I suggest either having it professionally installed (perk is the warranty) or doing it the old fashioned way and twisting/crimping every wire together individually.

hook up to the blue wires on the hrns. It will turn on the premuim sound amp.

The only problem you may not face is if you add a sub. When you add a sub ontop of the existing premuim sound system, it does not sound good. When the sub amp is just starting to get warmed up, the rest of the system will be well past the "sound-good" point and be driving the speakers to clip. You will have to bypass the amp, not a big deal really.

Actually, there is a solution that David Navone and Co., came up with that might simplify a sub add on. They make several high end LOC's that can be used in factory amp applications. Just found this site a week ago from a tip off this forum.

Ttocs, Who's Next? That was an album name from "The Who" circa 1979. Tell me you still remember that one... the concrete monolith with 4 water marks on the wall and all 4 band members zippin up??? Uhmmm, let's see... (No offence meant there mschrems... things guys do that just comes natural after a 6 pack.)
