Hello, does anyone konw if there is a guide showing how to get access the factory subwoofer and amp in a 2003 Mountaineer. I would assume that it is the same as a 2002-2003 Explorer. I know the sub is behind the rear quarter panel, but I can't seem to figure out how to get access. I am replacing the head unit, and want to end up with a sub woofer. Thanks.

May want to send a private e-mail to "ttocs" on this one. Am sure he has see a few of these and can coach you on same.

Worst case, head to the dealership or BB/CC and see if someone can give you some tips on how to get the trim panel off.

sorry for the delay.. Unfortunatly the sub is the first thing that is installed in the vehicle, which means that it is the last thing out.. You have to remove all the plastic trim from the back seat, to the back hatch. Lotsa screws to remove, and the rear eastbelts I think. It is not a huge ordeal, but be prepaired to end up with a few extra screws. THere are always extra's....
