I already have an amp installed, so could I run a line from the remote turn on of the old amp to the new second amp? And use the pre amp output lines of the old amp to the inputs of the new second amp? Replies (3) compvr15s on 11/5/2003 08:32:20 just run a patch cable from the remote lug of the old amp to the remote lug on the new amp, how many outputs does your HU have it you have an extra would go that way, or you can get a "Y" adapter for your rcas, one for the red and one for the white cable, then just run the "Y" adapters to their appropriate input. may lose power going from output to input on the amps, not sure, but i tried that with my amps and one was a lot less powerful than the other, maybe it was just my output was only 2 volts or something like that and the rca inputs to the first amp was 4 volts. does that answer your questions? ttocs on 11/5/2003 10:30:52 agreed.... But just in conversation, when you split the rca's it is a parallel wiring system right? Parallel wire theory says that you will split current depending on the impedence of the brance, but the voltage will be the same..... Right? Swez on 11/5/2003 10:34:11 Yes, in parallel, the voltage is same in all branches. Only the current in each branch will change, based on the load (impedence) in that branch. On your amp ?'s... Yes, you can just run a jumper from REM on amp A to Amp B. As for RCA signals, if Amp A has preouts, just run a pair of RCA lines from Preout on Amp A to inputs on Amp B. No "Y" splitters are needed if one amp has Preouts. All the input signals are are done for you inside the amp that has preouts. Swez Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
