Do people use them much for Subs? I've read things saying they help with better sound, but I just don't see how it would make a difference. Replies (3) Munchiesyumm on 11/4/2003 20:41:24 I don't see how it could make a difference. The style of connection shouldn't make a difference on sound performance. It has to do with what kind of metal is being used to carry the current. You shouldn't tell much of a difference between, gold, silver, or any other metal used as a conductor, if any at all. Swez on 11/5/2003 00:36:37 Banana plugs are a quick way to connect/disconnect subs from the amp. I use them on some of my gear for quick changes... but if you are doing a permanent mounting, terminal cups or barrier strips are fine. Banana plugs are more for HT & Pro line installs that are portable. A twist/lock system (better) works as well for DJ and portable sound systems. Swez ttocs on 11/5/2003 10:41:27 it is a nice way to terminate a wire, but it will not help with sound. If it is not done correctly, it will degrade the sound....
