I've been trying to figure out a way to water-cool my amp. The cooler it stays while playing the longer it will last. The whole underside of my amp is like a heatsink including the actual heatsinks along the sides. (Audiobahn A2200HCX) I need a much better way to cool my amp, one reason being is I'm asking a little over what the rms is at 1600 and running it at .5 ohms bridged. Yes I know it's not the best config exactly, but I'm not clipping the amp any, cause it's only puttin out under 10 volts most of the time. Just as long as I keep everything cool it's all good. If there's a better way to cool my amp, besides changing my setup, fill me in cause I'm all ears. There are 12 volt DC fans with different CFM (cubic foot/min) air handling ability you can use and they pull very little current. You can chill the air on the input side of the fan with a few ice packs... but they would need to be in a container that you can duct for the input fan and an air breather on the other side of the container. That might be an option... but you'll have some fun figureing out how to do it effectively. Comments? Swez Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
