possibly polarity.....check the RCA's and make sure red is to red and white is to white......make sure your speaker wires are correctly hooked up to - and +.......try reversing them and see if it makes a difference.

Is your amp turning on ? You can jimmy the remote-on relay to check by bypassing a +12V signal to the remote on terminal of your amp. Also check your ground, the amp won't turn on with a weak ground, and it also won't turn on with a low/high system voltage.

Check your RCA signal with small PC speaker, no signal = no sound.

Or you could check your subs to see if you blew a couple of coils, that'll do it.

check the fuse that is inline, hopefully 12" from the battery.

sounds like your amp is protecting its self, when some amps start to overheat they cut out, loose power , or completly shut off. Or your just not getting enough power to the amp. What size power and ground are you using?

i would go with the grounding idea first, check to make sure your ground is on an unpainted metal surface. if it is painted.. either move it, or scratch off all the paint and reground. check all your fuses.. but if it is cutting out and turning back on.. i doubt it is that. make sure that all of the connections [power, ground, remote, RCAs] are connected properly and securly to your amp. and that the speaker wire to your sub box and inside yoru sub box to your subs is connected properly and securely. -- dont forget to make sure that the RCAs and remote turnon lead on the HU side are connected securely. Hope this helps along with everyone elses $.02. --- SeVeN

I had a similar problem with my Clarion amp... i took it in and the clips on the board had shaken loose and shorted out the amp. Shake it... Do you hear anything?
