I have got a Lightning Audio Strike series 250.2 amp, I want to use it to power my two Kicker Comp (single voice coil) 12" subs. The amp is bridgeable. I need to know what would be the best way to wire the subs, and a description of how to do it. Your help will be alot of help. Replies (3) ttocs on 10/27/2003 22:39:03 what is the minimum bridgable impedence on the amp, and what is the impedence of each voice coil? Z71350ci on 10/27/2003 22:52:21 I am not sure about the amp but the subs are 8-ohm single voice coil Swez on 10/28/2003 09:52:09 If you are sure these are 8 ohm SVC subs, you can bridge the amp to MONO (1 channel output) and wire the subs in parallel to get a 4 ohm load. That is optimal for a 2 channel amp when bridged. 2 SVC drivers with Voice Coils in Parallel Look here: http://www.jlaudio.com/tutorials/wiring/index.html#2svcp Same wiring concept as shown. You'll get 4 ohms to the amp when wiring a pair of 8 ohms SVC's in the diagram shown in link. Easy deal! Swez Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
