Ok here is the deal. I am building a new box for my car. You probraly figured that out from the title. Right now i have two 10' sony xplod subs (http://www.ikesound.com/product-product_id/1268) and a 760 watt xplod amp (). I need to know the dimensions on what since box do you think i need. I really don't want a large box that takes up my whole trunk. If anyone can help me just reply back. This would really help. If anyone could i need this by this weekend. I don't want to be rushy but this would help. Thanks

Well each sub needs .75 cft of space, so if you built a box that used 3/4" thick MDF wood, you would need to construct two .75cft chambers equaling 1.5 cft of internal volume for the enclosure. Now that you know the volume, you can manipulate the width, depth, and heigth of the box to best fit in your trunk, as long as the chambers are the correct size.

First off, 1 cubic foot = 1,728 cubic inches so .75 cft = 1296 cin

So, for example, here's one set of dimensions you could have:

h - 11.5 in - minimum height (3/4" MDF bottom + 10" sub height + 3/4" MDF top)

w - 22.25 in - minimum width (3/4" MDF left + 10" width left sub + 3/4" MDF middle + 10" width right sub + 3/4" MDF right)

d - in this situation, having the box made at minimum h and w, depth would have to be 12.96" per chamber (each chamber would measure 10" w x 10" h x 12.96" d so internal volume = 1296cin, or .75cft), so 3/4" MDF front + 12.96" depth + 3/4" MDF back = 14.46"

So this box measures 11.5" h x 22.25" w x 14.46" d. if you want the box to be less deep, and save space that way in your trunk, you could increase the height, and/or the width, lessing the depth needed, but make sure that there is enough depth allowed for the subs.

What are the width and height dimensions of the trunk that you're workin with?

And are you wanting to go with a sealed or ported design?

I can help with demensioning the ported box, but I'm not experienced with constructing the ports or anything like that...you might want to get Swez to help you with that, if you're interested...
