having an odd problem here with my cd player. it worked fine when it first put it in and i havent used it in probably 3 weeks, i went out and put my subs back in my car and hooked them up, i get very little movement from the subs other than when i turn the HU on they make like 2 loud bumps. the HU has has 3 6volt preouts Front, Rear, and SW. i have the rcas in the SW. well if i plug the rcas in the rear output and set the rear output to SW it works great but then i lose my 6x9s that are being ran off the HU the are playin just bass. THE head unit is the Pioneer Premier 750MP.. when it bumps when i turn it on, is that feedback?? never had it happen before. Is there maybe some setting im doing wrong, if i turn the HU off and hold the function button i can change rear output to Full or S.W and can change a PREOUT to Full or S.W. could maybe the S.W output be shot? i just got the cd player maybe a month or 2 ago. Replies (9) ttocs on 10/13/2003 16:44:42 you didn't mention anything about adjusting the subwoofer output level? Have you tried that at all? compvr15s on 10/13/2003 16:47:31 how do i do that? bobbi-digi on 10/13/2003 18:31:58 On most Pioneer HU's I've used (or at least the more recent ones), there is an option on the 'audio' button menu that says something like: SUB : NOR, or SUB : REV (a phase switch) It may also say: SUB : OFF The next time you press 'audio' you should get something like: 80Hz : 0, which you can change to 50Hz : 0 or 125Hz : 0 (this selects the frequency you want to be the 'center' of the bass frequencies sent to the sub outputs) Then you can adjust whichever one you select, say 80 to: 80Hz : -3 ....or 80Hz : +6 (the latter will make the subs work much harder than they currenly are) Or perhaps ttocs was refering to the actual gain dial on your amplifier... which is probably also worth toying with if you haven't. Hope that helps.... ttocs on 10/13/2003 22:03:14 the ones I have seen have a option after the bass/treble option to go from 1 to 15, as well as a crossover.. compvr15s on 10/16/2003 14:17:17 is there anyway for me myself to tell if the s.w. outpusts are bad on this cd player, because im getting more output from the subs when i switch the rcas to front or rear output. and ive tryed to adjust the outputs through the HU and it didnt help any. i can have the cd player checked out for like 35 dollars but its almost new so i wouldnt think that would be the problem. thanx alot guys for all the help ttocs on 10/16/2003 17:46:09 are you saying that you did locate the sub output adjustment and it didn't help, or that you didn't find the adjustment? compvr15s on 10/16/2003 22:02:47 my head unit has a sub on/off as well as normal/reverse mode. i have it set to on and normal. as for the crossover i have it set at 80hz, and i have adjusted it all the way up and all the way down and it isnt helping when ihave the rcas in the s.w. output. i do notice some sort of feedback through the speakers now tho, it kind of like a little rumble when the cd player comes on, and it happens until the music starts to play. ttocs on 10/17/2003 03:19:23 if you have those options, I think you have a level control as well. Normally when you get the sub output(crossover) section, one set of arrown(left, right) adj the crossover freq, and the other(up, down) adj the output level. Is This not the case? Turn on thumps are not all the uncommon, and can often times be linked to the amp, and be fixed... compvr15s on 10/17/2003 13:48:07 would a bad ground from the cd player cause the thumps maybe. they only occure when the rcas are placed in the s/w preout. in the crossover function it allows for a +6 and a -6 on the subwoofer, that has no affect they still barelly move. is there a way i can run it off the rear output but not lose my rear speakers, the subs play fine off the rear but the rear output has to be set to s.w when it goes to full it seems like there is a power lose or sumting and the subs preform well below what they should be. i tryed unplugging all the wires figuring that it would return back to factory settings but that didnt help either. i havent really looked into the wiring too much, i still use the factory ground for the HU. never had a problem with my other pioneer. i also e-mailed pioneer with my problem but they havent responded yet. thanx again, its starting to get cold out so im not too worried bout figuring it out right away.
