You generally want to follow the guidlines given by each individual amp.... Swez on 10/12/2003 14:02:52 There are several things we can do to protect our gear and make it last. BUY QUALITY GEAR!!! Here are a few ideas: 1. Know and understand your owners/install manual information and follow its' recommendations to the letter 2. Have adequate ventilation/cooling for your amp(s) 3. Make sure you are running the proper ohms load for the amp ( per manual recommedations ) 4. Know how to configure your subs for optimal power and amp efficiency ( AVOID RUNNING BELOW OHMS RATING OF THE AMP ) 5. Have adequate voltage and current source for the amp to run efficiently a. proper gage power and speaker wires b. adequate power from ALT/BAT ( input watts ) c. Good grounds to all amps and BAT/Chassis 6. Avoid running the amp at high power over extended periods of time if it gets hot ( HEAT IS THE MAIN KILLER OF ELECTRONIC DEVICES AND CIRCUITS ) 7. Limit use of bass boost feature ( HARD ON MOST SUBS ) 8. Use proper gain settings ( KNOW THE HU VOLTAGE AVAILABLE AND SET GAINS IN CLOSE PROXIMITY TO THAT VOLTAGE ) 9. ? " what can burn the AC of the amp" ? I am not sure what you mean here... please explain I am confused??? What do you want to know about MONO and multi-channel amps? This can be a long topic, so a separate post might be advised. State your concerns and questions and we'll try to answer them as best we can. Swez Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
