I have a 1994 Rockford Fosgate Punch 200ix amplifier and I would like to know what would give me some monster lows, a pair of 4 of 8 ohm 12" or 15" subs? What is the difference between 4 ohm and 8 ohm subs?

If that is a 2 channel amp, your best bet is to get a pair of 8 ohm speakers and wire them in parallel to the amp while bridged MONO. This will give you maximum power output and a stable speaker load.

Do you have any idea what the wattage rating on this amp might be? You can add up the fuses and we can figure out approximately how much power this amp has for subs.

If this amp is less that 300 watts RMS, a single 4 ohm sub (12 or 15") will do fine.

Comments?

PS Looks like google search said it is 100 RMS x2 channels so more like 300 RMS at 4 ohms bridged.
