Did you ever get the CD changer thing done for your 'rents?

I have seen quite a few stock ones for sale over at fordtruckworld.com, FYI.

Tray,

Oh yeah... went real smooth considering I don't do many installs these days.

That model worked perfect with the Stock Ford HU. Just one main cable from CD player in trunk, to HU. A very bulky harness is needed for proper conversion and had a few choice words for the guys who designed the HU pocket... but eventually got it all tucked into place as before.

Thanks for asking,

Swez

Hehe, funny spin there ttocks... you have a whacky sense of humor... But yeah, that's one of the reasons I limit my installs to personal, family and a few friends. I feel the same way when working on cars in general.

Cars today, are designed to block out the average backyard mechanics of old. The engineers don't want to make it too easy to repair your own vehicles anymore. Special tools, special training and test gear are often needed. So far, I've had a degree of success getting around most repairs... but I bought the Tech repair manual to make this possible.

That book cost $100.00, but it has paid for itself many times over when compared to the $80.00/hr labor rates most dealerships charge. (and they don't always get ot right either)

I guess the bottom line here is.... if you attempt to do your own work, learn the details, have the proper tools and be willing to accept frustration at times when things don't come easy... just gotta step back, have a long look, mutter a few choice words to get out frustration and then come back to the process with a clear mind.

Does that make sense to anyone?

Swez
