Well i said id get some car audio sites from Australia together so you guys could use them as a reference, and here some are a few, in no particular order.

http://www.clarion.com.au/Car/index.html

Clarions Australian home page. One of the better sites with product listings and reccommended retail prices.

http://www.pioneeraus.com.au/car/index.html

Pioneer Australias home page. Has a full product listing but no reccommended retail pricing.

http://www.kenwood.com.au/car.asp

Kenwoods car audio Australia home page. Product listings, and rrps.

http://www.sony.com.au/products.asp?CCod_L1=16030

Sony (yerrk) product and price listings for its australian available product

http://www.panasonic.com.au/catalogue/list.cfm?cat=12_2

Panasonic products and price listings.

http://www.alpine.com.au/active_pages/product_page.asp

Alpine Australias site. Attractive product advertisement page.

http://www.strathfield.com/category.asp?CatID=2

Strathfield are one Australias largest providers of car audio. Though a lot of their prodcts are complete ****e. take for example the akai
' 1200 ' watt amp for 99 bucks. On the other hand they do sell some JBL stuff, so credit goes to them for that. They have a product finder and ofcourse price listings.

So hopefully these can help you guys help the next Australian to drop by here with a car audio question. Ill Post more as i find them.

Hummm, see most is Japanese and soem good brand names too.

I looked at Strathfield site and their prices and lack of detail on products are shocking. Just as bad as our "super stores" for retail products.

In general, stick with the better Pioneer, Alpine, Kenwood and Clarion as you build your system. That JBL 4 channel is not too bad either and some of their subs are pretty decent too.

Keep the sites coming as you find them so we can help other Austrailian bretheren when they come for product recommendations.

thought this might be handy for west australians, just some dealers, most of which i haven'
t used, only car stereo city in osborne park who aren't bad blokes. and they've been pretty helpful and usually give a good price first up, not like strathfield and audiocom on good brands (alpine, crossfire, MB quart etc) also i think alberts stock mailnly good qual. stuff too.
