hey guys, my brothers girl friend want a cd player in her car. i know how to wire everything and do all that but im wondering how it will look when its done. her dash has a plastic molding that covers the head unit, the heater controls and then an empty compartmen i think, well that piece curves with the dash, i was wondering if they made a piece that makes it look normal or does it look fine after i use the install kit. i dont think it will bother her too much but it kinda bugs me if its not going to look right. thanx everybody. all comments are appreciated. If a hatchack, pick a safe spot and install there. If you want to mount in dash, some careful measurments and secure mounting hardware is recommended. Look at your options carefully. Swez Relax_The_Mind on 10/4/2003 19:00:14 my girl has a plymouth neon... i was thrifty and used a skinny fiberboard stuff (the kind on the back of cabinets) and an old black plastic folder. Glued them together and cut it to fit the "plastic molding thingy" like the standard player and then the hole for the hu (must be perfect to have a snug fit). It almost looks factory and looks many times better than any aftermarket install kits. cost about the same price but it takes a little more time and effort (1 good day). and yes this method makes it look 'normal' given the cd player doesnt have 300 bright colors with mini strobes and chrome plating. ttocs on 10/4/2003 20:02:47 the kit they make for those works well and looks fairly stock depending on the deck you choose.
