grounding caps

I have always wired my caps this way:

Battery to fuse to cap +. Ground to cap -. all amp 12v to + on cap. All amp grounds to - on cap.

Recently i was reading a wiring diagram for a lightning cap and it showed:

Battery to fue to cap +. Ground to cap -. All amp 12v to cap +. all grounds to frame. (same ground point.)
what is the a difference in logistics? I would think this would make the cap less effective.THINK

I don't mean to spread mis-information but that did come from an installation manual.

no difference really, unless you are picky and want all the grounds on the same place. In theory they are the same, just drawn different.

are you noticing problems with your grounds running through your caps. i used to have my grounds runnin that way and i was having nothing but problems with it, so i just grounded each amp to to the frame and it worked great afterwards.

Thanks- I will have to try doing it that way for awhile and see what the turnout is like as far as system reliability.

How many of you prefer this method? Just out of curiosity.

I really don't have a preference. I guess I would normally ground the cap to the chassis, and the amps as well. But I would have no problem doing it the other way mentioned.
