i was trying to do a stereo swap for a bmw 528 2000. but bump into so difficulty. the bottom console has a piece of metal in it. how do i take it out. i have a double din stereo that i want to put on. please let me know if anyone can help me. thank you

you are going to have to do some major work to get that in there. A single din fits fairly tight, for a double din you will need a shoe horn and a large hammer.
where are you at?
I would probably go to your local shop and see what they think. If they can do it, it will be pricey...
