Hi, I have tried fitting two stereos (Goodmans GCE 7301CD & EDGE ED901) to my car and each makes a noise when I press the reset button (the noise sounds like the CD player is ejecting/changing). I can insert and eject CDs when this is happening but nothing else happens. There is no light up of the display and no buttons (other than reset) work. I tried changing the fuse on the Goomans (as this has an exterior fuse which I can reach without opening the casing of the stereo) but this had no effect. I have a 1995 Vauxhall Corsa. I read somewhere that such Corsas have a problem with radio preset memory as one or two of the wires are in the wrong position. I never listen to the radio and so do not care about this but I do want to listen to CDs and my iPod. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. The Red wire is only powered when the key is in the ACC/IGN/RUN mode 2. There is a Yellow wire that has a constant +12 volts from the BAT to hold Memory and store presets 3. The Black wire is a body/chassis ground. We/I recommend not using the factory harness ground here, but a direct wire to the firewall or floor pan and bare metal contact Those are the basics and the rest are speakers and ILL lines. Hope that helps, Swez ttocs on 06/22/2009 19:38:16 I understand that you don't use the radio much, but why 2 cd players? Do you have the speaker outputs from both radios connected? I would start by simply disconnecting one of the decks unless you are trying to listen to 2 cds at one time. mauricey on 06/24/2009 10:47:13 I meant that I have tried two different CD players but had the same problem not that I wanted to use them both at once. Sorry for the confusion and thanks for the help so far. swez on 06/24/2009 11:14:09 Are you getting the process we have outlined and what are the results so far? If you hit a snag or blow a fuse, we'll help you get it right. Swez Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
