Pioneer no constant power question

I am trying to put my Pioner DEH-P780mp deck into a boat. There is no constant power to hook the yellow wire(constant, from deck) up to. I have a red wire(ignition switch, from deck)for power, when the key is turned on. Do I connect both the red and yellow wire to that lead in the boat(power when key is on)?

In this case, you might as well run a separate line from the BAT Pos to the deck with an inline fuse as well. The Yellow constant usually retains memory functions, clock and presets. A #16 gage line is good and a 3A fuse should do it.

The Red lead powers the deck and is best tapped off the IGN switch.

You can connect the red and yellow if you want, the downside will be that it will not store any of the radios memory presets and will not keep time when it is turned off.

if there is a cig lighter or a fusebox nearby tap that for power and you should be ok
