Ok, this is where I am sitting at. I have an Alpine CDA-7873 Head Unit (60x4) with a pair of Pioneer TS-G4647 4x6 (100w max/20w rms) on the front channel and a pair of Pioneer TS-A6980R 6x9 (350w max/80w rms) running off the rear channel. From their, I have an Alpine MRP-T130 Amp. (90x2 max/240x1max / 50x2 rms/130x1 rms) that runs to a pair of Polk EX II 12” subs (400w max/150w rms @ 4ohms). I want to switch my amp to the front 4x6’s and get a new amp for my subs. What would be a good amp to use to push my subs? Also, does this layout sound like it will work correctly? The HU is adequate to power these. Consider installing a set of door or kick panel pods and use 6.5" Comps or Coaxials. A moderate amp will help a lot as well up front as this is the most important part of the SQ stage. That amp you have now will work and power the rear 6x9' off the HU amp if you wish. The rear fills are probably adequate and the amp you have now can easily run these to nice SPL levels... but you may drown out your front stage with the rear fills As for the Polks, these are 4 ohm SVC right. So here, a 300 RMS @ 2 ohms MONO amp is a very good choice. You can go Alpine, JBL, Kicker or a few other amps. Any of that sound interesting to you?
