Please Help

I have had my setup for over two years now, i have been having a problem every time I hit a bump or pothole while driving, i get this thump coming out of the subs when the stereo is off or turned down, when I have the volume up my subs seem to get quiet then get louder on the next bump?? what the hell?? i have checked everything i can think of, RCA, ground, connections etc......please help!!!!

Check you main fuse under the hood that feeds the sub amp and see if its in good condition. (Corrosion free and tight connections) Do this with a battery terminal disconnected.

Where is the ground point for your amp and HU? Both of them need to be to bare metal or we can get the results mentioned. It would be a good idea to check all RCA's are nice and tight, corrosion free too.

Finally, the subs should not thump when the HU is turned off. Most aftermarket HU's have a REMote turn on lead and when the HU is off, the amp should not be powered up. In this case, I take it you tied into the ACC/IGN/RUN wire to power the REM circuit in the amp?
