well it has been a while since i have touched anything caraudio but i still remember i think? but its nice to read on the forum again okay so i wanted to replace my girlfriends stock tape deck in a 96(i think) subaru outback legacy i couldnot find a wiring adapter for this car any where and being impatient i just cut the factory harnest and went to work with a volt metter and a AA batery well first problem i did change the front speakers and they had a lot of distortion and sounded worse than the factory ones so i ran my own speaker wires solved problem next project replace rear okay so the new cd player sounded great i was all proud i had brought my babe up to date with caraudio by the way i instaled a pioneer premier deh-p410ub well she noticed that the interior lights were not on and the power locks dont work i checked the fuses they are fine all powered up and every thing ive been looking at this for a few days cant figure it out any body got some sujestions? thanks again as always for your help Replies (5) swez on 05/27/2009 12:50:48 Here is the basic wiring harness color codes for 95/97 Legacy: http://www.the12volt.com/installbay/stereodetail/1975.html I suggest looking for both ends of the ILL and Dimmer wires and make sure they are connected properly. If not, that could be the reason for the lack of interior lighting. The door locks are likely on a separate circuit off the Constant +12 volt circuit. If that feed was cut or has no ground, this circuit will not function either. Swez raulbustos on 05/31/2009 08:23:44 yes i have found for most people that i deal with they perfer for it to not even change at all but to maintain circut and contunue the circut so the interior lights what should i do swez on 05/31/2009 09:22:21 Since you looked at the obvious, (fuse is ok right?) there's got to be an open set of wires that feed the interior lights. To know which wires are involved, we need a schematic diagram of wire color codes for the light systems involved. A missing ground will do the same thing. Either way, it's an open circuit. In a nutshell, am not sure how to advise you further on diagnostic tests for these circuits w/o a schematic diagram. Swez Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
