Okay this is what happened.. I had a 12" Rockford dual p2 sub and the dome ended up coming apart from the voice coil so I had to return it. Problem was that Rockford stopped sending p2's to best buy (where I purchased it)..In return I got a 12" Alpine E series single voice coil because it was the closest to the p2 that they had there.. Now that you know the story I currently have a Rockford p300-1 amp powering the Alpine E series sup and a Alpine MRP-F250 to power Infinity Reference REF5010CS components that I have mounted in the front. And a pair of polk 6x9's for the rear. (I'm using a 4 Awg Rockford wiring kit with a 100A fuse) Now the question is I need more bass for a reasonable price, but also my front components are going to need to be replaced due to a tare in the dome so that needs to be added to the cost. I was thinking about selling the p300-1 amp and buying another E series sub and powering it with a Memphis 16-PR1.500 amp (If Anyone has a better suggestion depending on the Memphis amp please let me know) And also could someone please suggest me a sub box (Ported) (**) Also should I just spring for better subs? (**) My only problem is power consumption, If I have to I can do the big three or possibly a gel battery Links!! The Memphis amp is more efficient than the RF sub amp mentioned. You can still use a single 12" sub, (Ported or sealed) to get some extra dB's of low bass too. This RF amp is fine for modest bass systems. But if you want more bass and reasonable current draw, the Memphis is a better choice. (1-Ohm stable) The Alpine SWE sub mentioned, is an entry level, 4 ohm SVC sub and the wrong VC design to get the most from the Memphis amp. Even a pair of them will be lacking. A single Alpine SWR-1222D would be a better choice and costs less than a pair of SWS subs. (More compact too, even if you choose ported) The Alpine F250 is about right for your F/R speakers. It's a good balance of power consumption/efficiency and use high efficiency F/R speakers like the Infinity Ref series for Mids/highs. The Engine will fill in the gaps. Questions/Comments?
