I am trying to hook up the following to my 2003 honda accord coupe with a factory head unit:
1. Alpine MRP-F300 amp
2. MTX re-Q sound processor
3. 10" 150W subwoofer
4. 50W MB Quart front speakers
What is the first step I need to do in order to hook up the amp to the factory stereo? Do I need the sound processor? Any feedback is greatly appreciated

What most guys would do in this case, would be to install a 4 Channel Line Out Converter, (LOC) at the radio and convert Speaker voltage levels to Line Levels and add 2 pairs of RCA's that run back to the 4 channel amp.

If your sub is a 4 ohm version, bridge the rear channels to MONO and use them to power the sub. I don't think the MTX Bass module is needed as the amp crossovers will handle that for you. The front channels of your amp will power the front MBQ's.

If you don't have the install/operations manual for this amp, here's a copy to review as needed:

Are you planning to use the rear speakers for this project?

Swez,
Thank you for your prompt feedback. It was very helpful. I am not planning to use my rear speakers.

By the way, what do you reccommend as far as amp wiring kit?

StreetWires and Knukonceptz.com are my general favorites for power & ground cables, RCA's and other related hardware. But you can get pretty good results with WalMart's house brands too.

If you have the slightest thoughts about adding a 2nd amp later, (Larger Bass amp) use a #4 power line kit. As is, a #8 kit will suffice.
