Unfortunately, this sub line from MTX is not suited to ported enclosures. These subs are designed for sealed enclosures only. It's a technical design issue and these subs are not suited for ported box designs. Changing to a ported box will likely damage these sub. Did you buy the package deal of amp, subs and matched enclosure? This is the package:

http://www.mtx.com/caraudio/products/amplifiers/TN250-1.cfm (Amp)

Had a guy a few weeks back who bought this Terminator Sub package of dual 12's and an underpowered amp package. He too was not satisfied. After looking at the package, the amp in the package was not a good fit for his terminator subs. The price was OK, but for optimal performance, a larger amp was his only step up.

The subs can handle 400 - 500 watts RMS, but the amp in this package delivers only 200 RMS. That's the reason for lack of performance. This TN250/1 is too weak to do the subs justice.

In a nutshell, a stronger amp will bring this box to life and we can show you some options there too.
