I have a boss riot gt1000m 850 watt amp pushing a pioneer 1200 watt max dvc sub. It sounds pretty good until mid to high volume then the amp goes into protection mode. Do I not have it wired right or should I just get a bigger amp? Replies (1) swez on 03/2/2009 21:10:57 What's the model # of that Pioneer Sub? The "Boss Riot" series noted is a real POOCH amp... "Yipp..Yipp" Who let the dogs out and more". If you are lucky, it's more like 200 watts Continous at most. Wiring issues may be part of the problem, but this series amp is older and very weak at best for subwoofers. This is an older Riot Class D amp for subs only. Have a nice paper weight for later. I found it on Boss' website and it's doomed to be a paper weight reminder of a lame brand amp, but a good paper weight. Say more please, Swez PS Oh, welcome to CK, but sorry to say, this is one of those products that is well-worth avoiding. (Throwing good money after bad, just like our current Gov't bail out program) PSS Sad to say, but it looks like you will be buying a better amp later. We'll giude you, but plan on a bigger budget for the next amp. Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
