Nice package in this SUV... a "Gadget Guy's" dream huh?

I wonder if there is only an amp for the subwoofer and the main speakers are run off the HU power amps. I say this as you want more power to the front and rear speakers and that gives a possible clue that there are no additional amp modules for your 6x8" door speakers and amped sub only.

Now, this MTX amp has Line/Speaker Level inputs and apair of stereo RCA outputs if you wanted to add modest a powered sub later. (That's a nice plus) Here's the Intall/Owners manual to review ahead of time, before you get into that stage of the game. It's pretty lame, but simple to understand:

It appears this amp can handle RCA Line Level or Speaker Level inputs. (No Line Out Converters needed and that's a nice time saver)

Have you checked the door speakers out yet? Chances are good these are lame Stock speakers that can handle about 15-20 watts RMS before they croak. If you really want to kick things up a few notches, consider replacing them all with Infinity Ref 6x8" coaxials.

The Refs are great sounding and come in 2 or 4 ohm versions with outboard crossovers. Have installed them in a few vehicles and the owners loved the new sound. (Amped of coarse)

If using the 2 ohm version, this amp will do 75 watts RMS x 4 to a 2 ohm speaker. That's plenty of reserve power to keep them loud and clear.

Finally, if you want a sub to bring up the bass, MTX also makes a Terminator Series for subs.

MTX Terminator : TN250/1

It's a very simple amp, no frills and spills and delivers 200 RMS @ 2 ohms. That's enough to give some nice low end bump, but not kill your stock electricals either.

What say you now?
