My car just kicked the bucket and since i don't have another car to move my stereo into i want to bring it to my dorm room. Right now before i do anything though, i want to approx how much its going to cost and what im going to need. I.e. a power converter for my amp and head unit. I've got an alpine cda-7894 headunit, jl xr-650csi speakers, jl 300 watt 4 channel amp, and jl 12w3v2-d4(i think, it might be a d2, i forget). Right now im just looking for a suitible power source that will give me the same output as my car does. Im not really sure how to go about comparing sources (im a little rusty on my physics) any help would be greatly appreciated.

Depending on the ampere draw of your amp and HU, the 35 or 40 ampere version should work well for this application and these power supplies has adjustable voltage as well. 12.0 - 15.0 volts output.
