First thing you can do is upgrade your big 3. That should help a bit, but if you have dimming still, then you might need to upgrade your alternator (its possible you need a new one anyway... It is getting pretty old...)

Observations...

1. CV Stroker is a long honored series of Competition subs that have been around a long time. Feeding this sub adequate power and a well-matched enclosure are the keys to getting the most from this sub. This one?

2. Boss amps are generally over-rated in power, cheap on price and not as reliable as tier 1 amps that really deliver. (Basically, they give little info about true RMS power to uneducated users) Note they offer peak power info at 1 & 2 ohms and RMS power at 4 ohms. What kind of garbage is that? Add up the fuses. If they don't add to 120A's or higher, it ain't all that.

3. This old SUV will need several electrical upgrades to keep up with a 1st rate amp. That means a H.O. ALT, Big 3 upgrade under the hood and possibly a 2nd Gel cell battery for the amp alone. (Dual batteries and a battery isolator kit for dual charging)

so what amp would you recommend

If you want solid power but not break the bank, consider Hifonics. The BXi 2608D will deliver over 2500 watts RMS @ 1 ohm loads. Have a look:

The Brutus series is pretty popular here at CK. Many users report they are a very good bang for the buck in this power range.

Also, contact CV and ask for ported enclosure recommendations on that 12" Pro. Am sure they have several ported recommendations and since you have a huge SUV, space is not a problem.
