i have a comp set of diamond hex s600,what wire is the pos coming out of the tweeter---is it the one with the stripe on it???? Replies (2) ttocs on 01/18/2009 10:45:29 stripes are normally indicators for negative wires as they are in this case. Yer gonna love those speakers, I love mine in my stang.... Loud and clear! cplkittle on 01/18/2009 14:00:51 Yes, it is a bit confusing with two black wires, one with a stripe. ttocs is right, the striped one is negative. Be careful with the screws on the mid drivers, they tend to be a little soft and can strip out easily. That is the only negative thing I have to say about these speakers. I have the s600 for my front stage and the s500 for my rears. I have been abusing them since 2004 and they still sound great. (had to replace the tweeters once). You can experiment with wiring the tweeters backwards (180 degrees out of phase). This tends to 'broaden' the front sound stage in some vehicles. It is all a matter of taste. One note on the avalanches, my friend's avi is in great shape, but the windows do leak a little. I recommend putting the crossovers inside the cabin versus in the door. Also, running new wires is recommended over using the factory speaker wires. Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
