I have a 2000 gmc yukon and i am trying to install a new head unit its a cheapo "freeway" dvd head unit I bought all the install harness etc. the unit powers and reads the discs but i cant get any sound. there is a extra plug on the back of the factory unit i assume for the casstte unit below and the rear stereo controls how do i bypass and is there a harness i am missisng thanks in advance

ya sorry no its not a bose ... on further research im guessing im looking to get a pac os1 unit I really dont care about the onstar but i want to eliminate any wirirng issues .. unless of course theres a way to simply do it ..

should be a harness that plugs in the back of the radio that's seperate from the standard GM harness that you purchased. it's like 5 or 6 wires, and i think has a white or yellowish connector. if there's a PINK wire in that harness, put 12 volts to it via the REMOTE wire on the head unit and you should get sound.
