I installed a panasonic CQC-800U
headunit into my 99 saturn sl1 but
it seems like with that installed i cannot
use my dash cluster lights. Yes after i installed
it it blew the fuse but i replaced it and it's
still not coming on with my switch. I was told
to tape up my orange illumination wires ,so, i
did and that didnt fix it any ideas?? Do i have
to wire my illumination to the battery or something?
Im so confused.

you are correct that you need to tape off the orange wires as they are illumination wires that they deck may or may not be used. You should infact insulate the ends of all the wires you did not use.
Now go check your fuses. Don't bother to look in the manual just go in and start pickin them one at a time and check them. It takes less time to check all the fuses(10-15 normally) then it does to try and figure out the manual and the electrical componants. If they are all good inside the car then don't forget that there is another fuse box by the battery.

You checked EVERY fuse in the car?
Just curious, how many orange wires do you have?

One orange and one orange white.... but i dunno the park lights
outside work its just my guage cluster. YES i checked every fuse inside and out... nothing's blown
