I added an AI-NET IPOD cable to my current setup of a CDA-9847 Head Unit, Type S indoors, Type E subs. Audiobahn amp on my indoors, Alpine amp to my subs. After I hooked my IPOD up everything worked fine until I turned off my ignition. When I turned the key to Accessories, my indoors stopped playing and a burning smell came from behind the Head Unit. The subs and IPOD stayed on. Now my indoor speakers will not come back on. What did I cook when i did this? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thus, no audio signal to your door speakers via the Bahn amp. The preamp to your sub system seems OK, but deeper question is why this may have fried under the conditions mentioned? Is your Alpine HU still under a warrantee plan? If yes, have it refurbished. If not, you may have to replace the HU. Here's a copy of the install/users manual. Look it over and see of you missed a step or wired something wrong during the install process: http://akamaipix.crutchfield.com/Manuals/500/500CDA9847.PDF Swez cplkittle on 11/25/2008 15:44:31 I doubt it has anything to do with the way the AInet cable is connected. The most likely cause is a pinched or shorted wire from reinstalling the HU. Is the amplifier for the front speakers fed from the radio by speaker wire or by RCA? If it is by speaker wire, I would pull the radio back out and find out which speaker wire grounded out. If a speaker wire grounded out the RCA preouts should still be ok.
