we need model number to be able to really help, as well as the make and model of your car(read the help us help you post) to be able to help. The fact you deck is loosing power leads me to look at the wiring for the deck to check for shorts or bad connections.

bose in the back?

I would still suggest checking out the wires behind the radio. Did you install it?

yeah i did, and its all hard wired. and looks good, could my battery be gettin weak? and yes..haha the bose is a custom type thing

could be low voltage, hook a volt meter up to and see what it reads.

Yeah, start the engine and allow the ALT to charge up your battery for a while.

Running amps off the battery only, will drain it in short order. Once the battery level drops below ~10.5 volts, the amps may work, but the vehicle may not start and some HU's shut down as well.

ok, i'll start with that, ALSO is there any kind of rule of thumb on capacitors and what not, should i have one with more than one amp, or is that based on a personal preference thing?

ttocs on 11/17/2008 18:43:11
rule of thumb for caps is that they are a band aid that does not fix what is wrong.......

SO 1 battery is ok for multiple amps? or should a person take some sort of precaution to make sure the vehicle has a proper charge to maintain itself?

Take this precaution, get a gel-cell battery. These things take tons of abuse, and are several times more resistant to vibration, shock, and being drained. an average battery will only survive 3-4 discharges before going kaput, gel cells can survive literally hundreds before holding a charge becomes an issue.....
